South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA): Emerging Evaluator Internships 2023
The South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Emerging Evaluator Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.
Internship Application Closing Date: 29 September 2023
Internship Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: Twelve (12) months with the host organization. Stipend: R12,000 per month (CTC).
About SAMEA: The South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) is dedicated to supporting the development of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) as an essential discipline, profession, and instrument for empowerment and accountability in South Africa.
Emerging Evaluator Programme: SAMEA is offering an Emerging Evaluator Programme to provide emerging evaluators (EE) with practical experience to become competent professionals in the evaluation field and enhance employability. They are looking for one EE per host organization.
Requirements for Emerging Evaluators (EE):
- Entry-level, young, black individuals below the age of 35.
- Part-time students, unemployed individuals in the field of M&E, preferably post-graduate.
- Possess less than 5 years’ M&E experience.
Profiles of Host Organizations: There are several host organizations participating in this program. Each has different focus areas and requirements. You can find more information about these host organizations and their specific requirements in the provided description.
Additional Qualifications and Experience: In addition to the requirements mentioned above, EE applicants should have:
- Postgraduate qualifications in relevant disciplines.
- Knowledge of M&E concepts, principles, methods, and tools.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in data collection and analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is an asset).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work in different contexts and settings.
